THE SEA LIFE AQUARIUM, ONE OF THE LONDON TOP TOURIST ATTRACTIONS.

The Sea Life Aquarium, is one of the Main Attractions in London. A favourite with the children and within sight of those other popular Tourist Attractions of London, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey etc.

London's Sea Life Aquarium, is for the whole family. Situated in County Hall, on the South Bank of the River Thames and right next door to the London Eye.

What could be better than, after spending 30 leisurely minutes, looking down on the City of London from the giant wheel, than after disembarking spending some time, admiring and wondering at the numerous and varied species of sea life, which inhabit our planet.

It is in a Sea Life Aquarium, such as this one, where so much work is carried out, researching into the habits of these marvellous creatures, that mankind stands the best chance, of saving so many of them from extinction, by breeding, conservation, preservation and a programme of controlled management.

At the same time, while this splendid work is being carried out, we the public, also have the opportunity to study them in our own particular way.

Creatures, which before the advent of aquariums, we could only dream about, we can now watch in perfect safety, while they go about their daily business.

Having re-opened its doors in April 2009 after a multi million pound refurbishment, it has a collection of tanks spread over three floors with some 14 themed zones containing over 600 species of fish.

A wonderful experience can be had, by walking along the floor of a tropical ocean by means of a glass tunnel, built alongside the sleleton of a blue whale. A truly rewarding view, as shoals of coloured fish, turtles and cow nose rays pass by in all directions.

There is a Nemo's area, complete with coral cave, and a ruined temple, with an amazing display of seahoses. There are also areas where people can handle and help feed the fish. All guaranteed to keep the children happy.

Sharks, octopus, stingrays, stone fish and of course clown fish, are all here to provide a truly wonderous experience.

With one million visitors a year, it is in good company with its illustrious neighbour, the London Eye. You are also within full view of those other Blue Riband Tourist Attractions, The Houses of Parliament, and the Clock Tower of Big Ben, with the two towers and roof of Westminster Abbey visible, but neatly tucked in behind the clock tower.

They can all be reached in a few short minutes, by crossing to the other side of the river by means of Westminster Bridge.
